— The Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) are a family of IT standards (models, specifications) which define a DoD-wide set of semantics intended to maximize interoperability of geospatial information and services for installation, environment and civil works missions.

Design and built a Standards Repository for the DoD SDSFIE

Highlights

Constructed a Platform Independent Model (PIM) for the SDSFIE, which permits modification of standard elements without compromising the ability to provide automated migration support both between users and from version to version.
Developed all of the software for SDSFIE prior releases and maintains a desktop tool library
Designed/programmed all related software including Web Tools and Management Tools
Web Tools are Browser (to view the standard), Generator (to create standards compliant data schemas), Validator (to validate level of compliance with user datasets against the standard), Adapter (to permit profiling and extension of the standard IAW with DoD guidance), and Migrator (to assist users in migrating data from one version/schema to another).
Host the repository and Web Tools on a server for all DoD users
Provide on-line Training and a Training Web Site for user ‘practice’
Manage and operate the SDSFIE Help Desk for questions regarding model content, prior release software toolbox issues, and Web Tool
Leader in creating SDSFIE standards
