Zekiah Welcomes our New Summer Interns, Pt. 1!

At Zekiah Technologies, we believe in supporting the local community. By giving young people meaningful first-hand experience in their desired fields, Zekiah takes part in creating competent and qualified members of the workforce. We host a multitude of internship opportunities that vary in length and topics throughout the year. This summer, two sets of interns will be lending their talents and gaining invaluable experience alongside the experienced Zekiah employees.

Our first pairing, Zachary Johnson and Jack Miller, started earlier this month and are working on exciting new Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence projects.

Returning to Zekiah after a successful internship last summer is Zachary Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA. Zachary is a recent graduate from the University of Mary Washington, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and minored in Data Science. He is a self-named giant nerd who loves playing video games, watching movies, and reading books in his spare time. He is currently reading Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. He has one cat, Gable, who “is a giant (literally), fuzzy (shedding), lovable (obnoxious), friend (freeloader).”

Upon his return this summer Zachary said, “As cliché as it is, a company is only as good as its people. Zekiah values its employees and has created a culture of competent and friendly people. I am excited to have the chance to come back and learn from them again.”

The second summer intern selected is Jack Miller, also of Fredericksburg, VA. Jack is majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Cyber Security at Randolph-Macon College. This is his last summer internship before heading back for his senior year. He plays tennis at school and enjoys playing soccer and video games in his off-time. Jack represents the dog lovers with his 11 year old Wire Hair Fox Terrier, Molly.

Jack stated, “I am very excited and honored to be a part of Zekiah.” We’re sure that our Jack and Zac power team will bring fresh perspectives and produce a synergistic relationship this summer.

Although this concluded Part 1 of Zekiah’s Summer Internship announcement, be on the lookout for Part 2, coming in July, when Zekiah will welcome two additional interns. Additional internship opportunities are available throughout the year and are posted on the Careers page when available.
