Zekiah Awarded DHS Contract to Continue WAMS Support

Zekiah Technologies, Inc. was recently awarded a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract through the General Services Administration Multiple Award Schedule (GSA MAS) (formerly GSA Schedule 70 IT) contract vehicle. This DHS contract continues support to the Coast Guard Waterway Analysis & Management System (WAMS) effort.

WAMS is an important effort for military, commercial, and the public sector. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) monitors, uses, and defends US waterways and coastal borders. USCG is also responsible for the maintenance of the vast network of maritime Aids To Navigation (ATONs). ATONs can include signage, buoys, lighthouses, and more. Some ATONS, such as the Alcatraz Light in San Francisco Bay, are more than 100 years old! All ATONs require monitoring and maintenance and the WAMS effort expands on the USCG’s ability and efficiency to stay abreast of that maintenance.

Eric Mahaffey, project manager for our WAMS work, shared the following: “We’re excited to continue our development efforts on WAMS and the Aids to Navigation system. Being part of the technology modernization of Waterways Management and Navigation gives us a great sense of pride. There are over fifty thousand navigational aids and over twenty-five thousand miles of waterways within the ATON system that we’ll be working with. Our decades of experience will provide the platform for this challenge, and we will ensure that the USCG mission is met.”
