Susannah Hartlove Joins Zekiah’s GIS Team

Zekiah Technologies, Inc. is pleased to welcome Susannah Hartlove to our Geospatial Engineering team! Susannah, who prefers to go by “Sue”, was born in Charles County, MD, but has lived in several states in the region including PA, VA, and WV. She received a BS degree in Agribusiness Management and Rural Development, a BA degree in Language, Literature, and Linguistics, and an MS degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Design, all from West Virginia University (WVU).

During her time at WVU, Sue was a four-year member of the Women’s Rowing Team and a graduate Assistant Coach to the Women’s Rowing Team. She considers West Virginia her second home and spends her weekends following WVU’s team, the Mountaineers. When not working or cheering on the Mountaineers, Sue likes to get outside as much as possible. She enjoys hiking with her dog, camping, mountain biking, and kayaking. She is always looking for new trails to try and open spaces to explore.

Sue’s interest in GIS and spatial analysis grew after completing a project to maximize recreation opportunities while minimizing potential conflict in a state forest. That project was a perfect use-case for the application of GIS information and combined Sue’s love for the outdoors with GIS. Analyzing GIS imagery and data is one of Zekiah’s core services and we are excited to offer Sue the opportunity to continue participating in meaningful projects. Sue said, “I am excited to join Zekiah and be part of such a great team. I look forward to working on a project where I can contribute both my GIS and natural resource interests.” Her supervisor, Christine Johnson, said “I can already tell that Sue is going to be a great addition to our team, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with her!” Welcome aboard, Sue!
