Zekiah Welcomes our New Summer Interns, Pt. 2!
At Zekiah Technologies, we believe in supporting the local community. By giving young people meaningful first-hand experience in their desired fields, Zekiah takes part in creating competent and qualified members of the workforce. We host a multitude of internship opportunities that vary in length and topics throughout the year. This summer, two sets of interns will be lending their talents and gaining invaluable experience alongside the experienced Zekiah employees.
The second pair of interns joining us this summer are Kim Stuart and William Makell III (read about the first two here)!

Kim Stuart is joining Zekiah as the SEO/Marketing intern. She resides in King George, VA, but spent large parts of her childhood in both La Plata, MD and at the Dahlgren Naval Base. This upcoming academic year, Kim will be a senior at James Madison University, where she is pursuing a double major in Media Arts and Design, and Writing, Rhetoric, and Technical Communication.
Kim joined us briefly in May, and is resuming her internship after returning from a study abroad trip to Ireland where she learned how to use social media as a professional platform. The most memorable parts of the trip for her are when she learned how to do a traditional (and very basic) Irish set dance and when she went canoeing for the first time ever on the beautiful Lough Derg. After such an exciting adventure, Kim looks forward to her internship saying, “I am eager to learn about the workplace in such a welcoming and kind environment!”
Our final intern of Summer 2019 is William Makell III, who is working alongside two other interns, Zachary and Jack, on the Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence projects. William is currently a junior at Hampton University and studying Computer Science in hopes of becoming a software engineer. In his free time, William enjoys playing video games and basketball.
Technology is a large part of William’s life. His interests include developing phone apps, web design, cyber security, and game design. William’s passions and ambitions have driven him far. In 2016, he competed in the Google Hackathon. There, he worked with a team to create a site that notifies users when clothing lines are due to launch. With experience as extraordinary as this, there is no doubt that William will make a valuable addition to the Zekiah team.
Although this concludes our summer internships for 2019, additional internship opportunities are available throughout the year and are posted on the Careers page. Additionally, many new exciting full time career opportunities can be found on our Careers page; click the link above to see if Zekiah might be the opportunity for you!
