Fall Fun with the Zekiah Team at Raven’s Crest
Zekiah was fortunate enough to have a clear, cool afternoon recently as we put on our annual Fall Harvest Gathering. The event was an opportunity for coworkers who have spent the past year working remotely to kick back, reconnect, enjoy a great meal and have some fun together. It also offered the opportunity for many employees who have started with Zekiah in recent months to meet their teammates safely in person for the first time. Festivities included a cornhole tournament, marshmallow roasting by the fire, and fresh oysters caught and prepared by Dan Bowling and Tony Bramell.
Many of our team members brought loved ones and family members along. Cornhole in action. Even the littlest members of the Zekiah family got in on the fun!
This year’s Fall Harvest Gathering was held at Raven’s Crest, the location of Zekiah founder Brianna Bowling’s new retreat and workshop venture, Retreat & Learn. Raven’s Crest is a 173 acre working farm situated in Newburg, Maryland. The farmhouse sits on the high cliffs overlooking the Potomac River, offering Fall Harvest attendees breathtaking panoramic views of the river and surrounding farmland. A delicious buffet dinner was served in the farmhouse, which was built in 1850 with additional sections added later. Among the historic building’s many charms are a chandelier constructed from wooden slats salvaged from the water cistern in the attic which bear the name of a former owner, farmer Bruce M. Wilmer, and beautifully restored open ceilings and brickwork.
Many thanks to Jaime Ransome, Steve Bowling, Jule Thorne, Lori Sinclair, and Tony Brammell, who worked hard to put together this wonderful event; thanks to Dan and Brianna for hosting at Raven’s Cliff; and thanks to everyone who was able to come spend a few hours together. It was a great afternoon. Here’s to many more years of Fall Harvest Gatherings!
