Zekiah Technologies, Inc. is pleased to welcome David Rich to our software development team. Mr. Rich is our newest veteran hire (read more on the benefits to hiring veterans in AFSA’s Spring 2020 magazine, page 28) and we’re excited to have been able to implement new on-boarding procedures to continue hiring during the COVID-19 quarantine. After serving in the Navy Mr. Rich attended Capital Institute of Technology in Maryland and then Johns Hopkins/APL to get his master’s degree. In a vain attempt to “get out of the city” Mr. Rich moved to Stafford Virginia where he has spent the last thirty years fighting the traffic on I-95. His new commute with Zekiah, supporting our NSWC Dahlgren contracts, finally allows him relief from traveling on I-95 and he’s looking forward to the change of pace. (Read more about the benefits of simplifying your commute here.)
Prior to joining Zekiah, Mr. Rich developed several products on his own including a high voltage pulse generator and a medical ultrasound probe. While the products work and serve a need, Mr. Rich has discovered that sales is not really his strong point and he prefers to be part of a development team. Mr. Rich has a deep interest in music and in his spare time he plays in a Celtic band at the local bars. We’re looking forward to seeing his talents firsthand when COVID-19 regulations loosen and we gather for our next company event! Sláinte!
Mr. Rich’s supervisor, Pam Thompson said, “David’s skillset qualifies him perfectly for the tasking which is required of the Senior Software Engineer position on the contract he supports at NSWCDD. His senior level of experience has enabled him to quickly contribute what is needed for the engineering team’s tasking.” Zekiah is excited to welcome David and we look forward to the year ahead. Welcome aboard David!
