Join Team Zekiah at the 31st Annual Clean the Bay Day!

The Chesapeake Bay is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in Maryland and Virginia. Zekiah, whose namesake comes from the Zekiah natural wetlands in Southern Maryland, values the preservation of the local environment and wildlife. Volunteering at the Clean the Bay Day is part of Zekiah’s ongoing commitment to serving our local community.
On June 1st, Zekiah will be participating in the 31st annual Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day, a state-wide initiative that strives to remove damaging waste from Virginia’s waterways. From 9 AM to noon, the volunteers will gather at Caledon State Park and work to extract and eliminate any man-made pollution that has found its way to the park. In order to ensure that the volunteers can make the biggest impact possible, all clean-up supplies will be provided at the event.
Quick Facts about Clean the Bay Day 2018:
Approximately 6,000 volunteers…
Removed about 134,370 pounds of debris…
From more than 344 miles of stream and shoreline.
(All in just three hours!)
Join the dedicated employees of Zekiah in their effort to keep the Chesapeake Bay clean and beautiful. Together, we can work to keep the environment healthy.
